Iggy Azalea is entering a new era with her music, two years after the release of her last album, as she had just announced that she has some new music lined up for release this year.
Back in August, Azalea confirmed that she returned to the recording studio, but she's now back to give more confirmation and details about her new material.
"Music?... summer. Scandalous s**t?... Friday," Azalea wrote as a response to a fan who was wondering about the status of the rapper's upcoming music.
Aside from that, the "Fancy" rapper didn't have much to say about her upcoming music release, perhaps because she wants to keep much of her comeback a secret or maybe keep away from the criticism of netizens.
Despite facing harsh criticism throughout her career, Azalea has a solid fanbase who are very supportive of her music career and life decisions.
Fans flocked to the tweet and had a mini-celebration in the replies: "if you're a real Iggy fan, you know iggy only releases music in the summer. Real s**t."
"Is Scandalous S**t the name of your new song?" Another wrote with a shocked emoji.
"Wait [what do you mean]? Announcement on Friday? OMG."
"Did you release a single before the summer or the album right away?"
New Era
The Australian native reportedly stepped back from the music scene and seriously considered retiring after the release of "The End of an Era," which was a very telling title.
"A year ago I was willing to walk away from music because I was tired of the negative energy it attracted," the "Black Widow" rapper wrote. "But what I've learned is that even when I'm minding my business, y'all gonna be negative AND nosey. So if I can't have peace, neither can you. I'm coming back. Cry about it."
This isn't the first time Azalea has complained about the music industry, particularly the stress and toxicity that comes with it.
She once tweeted: "The music industry is so f**ked when it comes to taking advantage of/not respecting the women successfully operating within it; as well as those aspiring to break into it. It's actually sad."
Although it might be difficult, it appears that Azalea's love and passion for her craft won, because she couldn't stay away from the recording studio for too long.
