Slowly but surely, Selena Gomez is returning to Instagram but she just might change her mind, as negative rumors can certainly affect her more if she's back on social media.
The "Only Murders in the Building" actress, 30, has had a tumultuous history with social media, and in 2019 she erased it from her phone, relying on her assistant to post on her instead.
But on January 11, Gomez implied that she has returned to the app by posting a series of three bathroom photos taken with her own phone, which included a purple butterfly-patterned case. "Wait can you tell I'm back on Instagram ?" she captioned the post.

In recent weeks, the celebrity has posted an increasing number of intimate photos, offering her 369 million followers a view into her inner circle. On January 6, she posted a selfie with her 9-year-old sister, Gracie Elliott Teefey, and days earlier, she posted images from her New Year's Eve celebration with her friends Nicola Peltz Beckham and Brooklyn Beckham.
Gomez said in 2019 that she no longer had Instagram since unfavorable comments on her photos had left her feeling "depressed." The "Lose You to Love Me" singer told Vogue in 2021 that she had been off the internet for three years and had been sending her assistant photographs and text to put on Instagram and Twitter.
in the same year that uninstalling the app from her phone had substantially helped her mental health. Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz have been dating Selena Gomez.
Just a day after her return, rumors have already abound that she's playing house with Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola. While not really negative news, it can certainly lead to nastier interpretations.
A source informs Closer Magazine that Victoria Beckham's son currently resides at her Encino house. "Brooklyn and Nicola moved into Selena's Encino estate a few weeks before Christmas and the three of them have been playing happy families - joking that Selena is going to be written into the marriage license," a source told.
They added: "Brooklyn and Nicola put their home on the market last year and had been living at Nicola's apartment in LA while they look for a new house, which has been far from ideal given how cramped it is."
The insider continued: "When Selena suggested they move into her sprawling home with a huge backyard, they loved the idea and agreed that since they're still so young, living with a friend would be the perfect way to have the best of both worlds."
Unless Selena Gomez or Brooklyn Beckham confirm this, it's important to take this with a grain of salt.
