Aside from announcing new music out of nowhere, Taylor Swift also loves popping out of other artists' concerts as a surprise act. More recently, the global pop star shocked fans when she performed at The 1975's show in London just months after they were rumored to be collaborating.

According to Read Dork, the "Midnights" hitmaker attended the Manchester-based band's first show at the O2 Arena in London for the United Kingdom leg of their successful "At Their Very Best" tour.

The pop star donned a big-sequined short dress and a pair of platform heels. To complement her look, the singer styled her hair with a messy bun and bangs.

During the surprise set, the "Mastermind" hitmaker performed her smash hit, "Anti-Hero" for the first time, but in an acoustic rendition. She also covered The 1975's "The City" from their self-titled album.

Videos and reactions immediately flooded social media, with one fan who attended the show writing, "Omfg this bit is soooo good I am sobbing. Taylor Swift playing Anti-Hero acoustic on stage in London at the 1975 gig tonight."

"TAYLOR ALLISON SWIFT SINGING ANTI HERO FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME (ACCOUSTIC!!!!) AT A 1975 CONCERT THIS WAS NOT ON MY 2023 BINGO CARD IM STUNNED," another fan wrote.

Earlier that evening, Adam Hann's wife, Carly Holt, joined the band to perform the song "About You" from their recent album, "Being Funny in a Foreign Language."

This isn't the first time The 1975 brought out surprise guests as Jack Antonoff and Phoebe Bridgers previously performed at their shows in the United States.

Both the band and Swift worked with Antonoff on their respective albums, both of which were released within a week of each other.

Speaking in a previous interview with DTS Sound Space, frontman Matty Healy confirmed that they contributed to "Midnights," however, it never came out.

"Yeah. We actually worked a bit on that. But then [that] version of it never came out," he said.

At the time, fans were disappointed as people in the audiences started booing, but Healy defended Swift by saying, "that's not how it works. It [didn't work out] for reasons that are not to be criticised. She's amazing." (via NME)

Prior to the interview, an alleged leaked tracklist of "Midnights" made rounds online, in which Healy was included as a guest collaborator.

However, he immediately shut down rumors, saying the band would love to work with Swift in the future.
