Lisa Marie Presley and her mother Priscilla were very close before the former's passing.
This is due to the fact that the mother-daughter team experienced their share of highs and lows.
In fact, Priscilla purportedly sought to enroll Lisa Marie in the Church of Scientology's drug recovery program years before the only child of Elvis Presley passed away.
2019 saw Priscilla, a stalwart supporter of the cause, pleading with church leaders to permit her daughter to join in Narconon. According to Radar Online, it is the organization's drug rehabilitation program.
Lisa Marie was once again using drugs at that time, according to an insider, and nobody could reach her.
"Priscilla realized how horrible things were," they said, "and she did what she usually does to save her daughter - she resorted to Scientology to get her back in line."
For a very long time, Priscila Presley joined the contentious church and even reared her kid there. But in 2013, Lisa Marie Presley left Scientology.
As a result of being "surrounded by individuals who were not well-intended," she quit.
It was all too much for the mother-of-three, who went on to add that "it was a huge sinister situation, where there was like, kind of intel and covert ops going on, and a complete attempt to control me that I didn't know about."
During the divorce procedures between Lisa Marie Presley and her ex-husband Michael Lockwood, Lisa Marie Presley's drug misuse and addiction were made public.
The troubled celebrity said that in 2012, the severity of her substance abuse problems grew worse.

She also admitted to misusing prescription drugs, even starting to take cocaine to offset the effects of the drugs.
Although it's unknown if Lisa Marie Presley ever attended the Scientology Narconon program, several sources assert that the organization did previously treat her.
On January 12, 2023, Lisa Marie Presley passed away. At her Calabasas, California, home, she suffered a heart attack and passed dead. Her housekeeper discovered her to be unconscious, and her ex-husband Danny Keough gave her CPR until help came.
As Lisa Marie was heading to the hospital, the medic reported that she briefly had a pulse. But regrettably, she was declared dead a few hours later.
She is survived by her mother, Priscilla, and her kids Riley, Harper, and Finley.
