CJ Harris' cause of death has been ruled days after his death, medical officials said.

County's coroner Joey Vick confirmed in a statement that Harris died on Sunday in Jasper, Alabama, after being rushed to the Walker Baptist Medical Center. The message disclosed that Harris received CPR as he suffered health distress, but the attempt to revive him was unsuccessful.

Walker County Coroner's Office also shared a press release confirming his death, while his family insisted to a news outlet that he died of an apparent heart attack.

Days after Harris passed away, medical officials shared a similar sentiment and said that the "American Idol" alum died from a heart attack.

The Walker County Coroner said that the doctors who saw him at the hospital listed his official cause of death as a heart attack. Thus, no autopsy is needed for further information. The new update, however, dismissed the former report posted by AL in which it claimed Harris' body already underwent an autopsy.

At that time, it said more tests were needed to find out Harris' exact cause of death.

The confirmation also debunked the rumors surrounding the singer's passing. For what it's worth, internet users blamed several things for his death, including vaccines and gene therapy.

Harris' family is yet to release details of the funeral and memorial service for the late 31-year-old singer. But amid the trying times, Harris' fans sent them heartfelt messages while paying tribute to the musician.

Remembering CJ Harris

Harris first auditioned in "The X-Factor," "The Voice," and 2010 "American Idol" but did not make it to the cut. His time finally came when he joined "American Idol" 13th season in 2014.

He auditioned in the talent show competition in Salt Lake City. Following his successful audition, he advanced to the semi-finals and wowed everyone with his renditions of The Marshall Tucker Band's "Can't You See" and the Allman Brothers Band's song "Soulshine."

Although he did not win, Harris notably placed sixth in the program.

In 2019, he released his debut single, "In Love" and continued his solo music career.

After his death, the "American Idol" Instagram page honored the alum on its Instagram Story, calling him and "incredible talent." It also said the team was broken by his passing.
