This week, Drake released a new music video for his song "Jumbotron Shit Poppin," in which he uses a classic PSP.
But it's not just any PSP; this one was previously owned by Pharrell Williams and has a genuine gold casing (via Kotaku).
In November, the custom PSP-1000 was sold on Pharrell's auction website, Joopiter, for nearly $20,000 USD. According to the listing, its case is made of 14-karat solid gold weighing 659.7 grams and was commissioned by the NERD member to complement his gold BlackBerry in 2008. Last year, Pharrell tweeted that selling his jewelry and other possessions (including a gold BlackBerry) was an act of liberation "for the start of a new era."
Drake is depicted in the music video wearing Pharrell's old jewelry and chains and playing a gold PSP while leaning against a red Ferrari Enzo, suggesting that the end of an era for Pharrell is the start of a new one for him. It is unclear if Drake purchased these items (including the likely $2 million-plus car) or if he is simply borrowing them for the video, but he appears to take great pride in them.
The PSP is not powered on in the video, and the auction does not specify its functionality beyond stating that it is in used condition. "It shows some signs of use, particularly on the back," the listing states, and the back does indeed appear scratched. In addition, a custom Goyard PSP carrying case is included.

It is clear that Drake is still riding the success of his collaborative album with 21 Savage, Her Loss, and he recently released the music video for his solo track, "Jumbotron S- Poppin'." Drake's music video features cameos from Lil Baby, Mike Tyson, French Montana, and Central Cee from the United Kingdom.
If the purpose of the "Her Loss" album was to demonstrate that a girl (His the one who got a way, presumably) is missing out on a luxurious lifestyle, then this music video may provide her with a better understanding.
Tristan C-M, Theo Skudra, Sebastian Contreras, and Anthony Gonzales produced the new video. See it in its entirety above. Drake was recruited by Popcaan for the new single and music video "We Caa Done" earlier this month. The video, which featured appearances by Lil Yachty and Kevin Durant, was directed by the aforementioned frequent Drake collaborator Theo Skudra.
In November, "Her Loss" debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The full-length collaboration album was first hinted at in the official music video for the Honestly, Nevermind track "Jimmy Cooks," which was later selected as the best song of the year by Complex.
