Selena Gomez set the record straight about her reported relationship with The Chainsmokers' Drew Taggart.
Gomez and Taggart sparked dating rumors when the public spotted them bowling together at New York City's The Gutter. Page Six shared photos of the outing, and they quickly spread online like wildfire.
Neither of the two confirmed their reported relationship at that time, but the "Lose You To Love Me" hitmaker finally broke her silence about the buzz.
In a since-deleted Instagram Story, according to Entertainment Tonight, Gomez wrote, "I like being alone too much. #iamsingle."
Gomez deleted it a few moments later.
This debunked the unnamed sources' statements to several news outlets, saying the two were indeed dating "but things are still new." One insider also said that they met through their mutual friends.
People, who claimed they saw them at the bowling area, also insisted that Gomez and Taggart were making out during their "date."
The "Closer" DJ was previously linked to Eve Jobs, Steve Jobs' daughter, and Chantel Jeffries.
Selena Gomez "Open" To Dating This Year
Although Gomez is not dating anyone yet, she reportedly opened her doors this year to meet and date someone.
An unnamed source told Entertainment Tonight revealed that the actress is very optimistic as she expects to date this year. Still, she continuously talked about feeling fine that she is single in the past years.
In one of her TikTok videos, she said she is fine being single while being surrounded by loving couples.
Gomez has dated several A-listers and renowned personalities, including Nick Jonas, Taylor Lautner, Justin Bieber, Orlando Bloom, Zedd, Niall Horan, Samuel Krost, Charlie Puth, and The Weeknd. But among her high-profile relationships, the one she had with Bieber made the most buzz.
In her documentary "Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me," the singer opened up about her breakup with Bieber in 2018 after going through an on-and-off relationship. She then admitted that her track, "Lose You To Love Me," is about breaking up with Bieber.
Gomez said she collaborated with Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter so she could translate her feelings into one song.
"It's about more than a lost love," Gomez said. "It's me learning to choose myself, to choose life, but also hoping that people can find grace and peace in that too. The song is about knowing that you completely lost every part of who you are just to rediscover yourself again."
