Fans are expressing worry after seeing Lewis Capaldi "twitch" during his performance in Liverpool last week.

A video of the "Somebody You Loved" hitmaker is making rounds on social media, especially on TikTok, after he was snapped twitching during one of his performances.

According to NME, the singer was on his Liverpool show last Jan. 19, 2023, when a fan caught the worrying twitch on camera and posted it on TikTok afterward. Since then, many have expressed concern about Lewis Capaldi's health.

"All the years I've watched Lewis I've never seen him that bad this must have got worse recently, from not knowing to noticing all the time now!" a fan said.

"This so break my heart, "someone commented.

"I know with tics it's so stressful especially if people see.... but he's so adorable!! I love him," another shared.

However, some fans have already realized that the singer had been experiencing ticks, which is caused if a person is diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome.

Shortly after it went viral, Capaldi addressed the issue on social media - by duetting the TikTok video with his own explanation.

"I'm doing this quite a lot and sort of like look a bit uncomfortable. It's just - I've got Tourette's, so I'm just twitching quite a bit here," he said in the video. It's not an issue in the slightest, I'm absolutely fine. It's just this happens when I get like tired, nervous, excited, whatever. So it just gets more intense. I'm not doing it now at all because I'm lying in my bed in my pants.

According to The Cleveland Clinic, Tourette syndrome is a neurological disorder that causes uncontrollable movements, and vocal sounds called tics. Data shows that the disease often shows up in early childhood and progresses into adulthood.

Famous personalities like Billie Eilish, David Beckham, and even Mozart are some of the people who were also diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome.

Addressing why he gave the crowd a chance to sing during his episode, Capaldi has this to say: "But this is at the end of an hour-and-a-half gig and I'm dinging in front of 15,000 people. So, yeah, I'm tired and I'm also very excited cause this whole arena is singing my songs back to me."

Last September 2022, Capaldi admitted that he was diagnosed with the disease, saying that he finally said it so people wouldn't think that he was using dangerous drugs while performing.
