Sam Smith has stated they have the 'opposite of body dysmorphia' after learning to accept their physical appearance. Given that, they are burnt in places they are not in the past -- all because he's now willing to bare it all and get tanned, whenever they like!
Good for them!
The 30-year-old artist, who is non-binary and uses gender-neutral pronouns, explained how they suffered with weight issues as a child and dreaded being judged upon joining the music industry.
Smith claimed in an interview with The Sunday Times that a grueling 2018 tour caused them to reexamine their beliefs and that they are now 'happier than ever' in their own skin.
Sam continued by stating that their worries stemmed from their upbringing, when they were self-conscious during family vacations.
Every time they went to the pool after the 2018 tour, they felt self-conscious, but they forced themselves to remove their top.
It paid off because they now have body dysmorphia's opposite. We are not sure if there's such a thing, but it does sounds like a positive development for the singer.

They said they look fantastic. They are finally becoming tanned. "I burnt in places I've never been burnt," they said.
They shared that their mother once told them that as they have gotten older, they will become less concerned with what others think. They now knew she is right.
According to the NHS, body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), or body dysmorphia, is a mental health disease in which a person spends a great deal of time worrying about physical imperfections. These defects are frequently overlooked by others.
Sam Smith also shared what they feel about being compared to Adele.
They were ridiculed for expressing the strangest rumor they've ever heard about themselves, which is that they are actually Adele in drag. Monday, the celebrity informed Drew Barrymore that the conspiracy theory arose due to the fact that they and Adele, 34, have never been seen in the same room.
Sam added that if Adele's voice is slowed down, it does sound similar to theirs but they wonder how Adele would feel about this. They said being compared to Smith's voice is one thing, but to say they look the same is another.
