In the past months, Kanye West's mental health has been put under the microscope because of his meltdown in front of the camera and on social media.
His antisemitic statements and controversial takes on several key issues have made him the person to avoid in Hollywood and in the music industry for the past year.
At the beginning of 2023, Kanye had been on a down low. The last time he made headlines was when he was believed to have been married to Yeezy architect, Bianca Censori.
Now, in a recent run-in with a paparazzi, Kanye West seemed to reveal an important development in his mental health - which is a great leap forward to his recovery.
In the past, his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, revealed that Kanye refused to take prescription medications to treat his bipolar disorder. He also confessed in an interview with Tucker Carlson on Fox last year that he feels "hurt" when he is called "crazy" by his detractors.
"For him, being on medication is not really an option, because it just changes who he is. It is an emotional process, for sure," she added. "Right now everything is really calm. But we can definitely feel episodes coming, and we know how to handle them," Kim revealed to Vogue Magazine in 2019.
But 4 years later, it seemed like West finally got over it and decided to take the right path to his recovery.
As he left a Los Angeles tanning salon earlier this week, West opened up to a paparazzi who was taking photos of him and Censori, after initially asking them to stand down. (via HipHopDX)
"Do you know the first time I ever took medication, why it was? Because I got mad at paparazzi," he revealed. "You know which paparazzi it was? The same one that shot Britney. My dad did photography for newspapers. It has to be some kind of balance, some kind of conversation."
While it was still unknown when Kanye started making the huge leap, it would definitely be great if Censori had a part in it.
After the huge revelation, Kanye went on to lecture the paparazzi on how it is unfair to take photos of them and sell the photographs to the media without their control.
