Last year, amid drummer Taylor Hawkins' death, Foo Fighters took their time to mourn their losses as they canceled most of their performances for the next few months, including their tour. Today, the band is slowly getting back on track as they're set to perform at two music festivals as replacements for Pantera.

According to Metal Insider, the legendary band will be playing at the 2023 Rock AM Ring and Rock IM Festivals in Germany on June 2 and June 4, respectively, instead of Pantera.

Taking to their official Twitter account, the group excitingly announced, "Germany - we'll see you Friday, June 2nd at Rock am Ring and Sunday, June 4th at Rock im Park! Tickets are on sale now."

In addition to Foo Fighters, organizers have also added new performers to their official lineup including Bad Wolves, Blonde, Sam Tompkins, Cari Cari, Five Finger Death Punch, Steel Panther, Die Nerves, Pabst, MOD SUN, Thees Uhlmann & Band and Yonaka.

For fans who want to watch the festival, tickets and complete information are available on their respective websites, rock-am-ring.com and rock-im-park.com.

Pantera Controversy Led Them to be Dropped From Festivals

Pantera is currently under fire after vocalist Phil Anselmo's previous racist remarks and controversial posts resurfaced on social media, ultimately leading the two festivals to drop them.

In a statement translated into English, organizers wrote, "In the last few weeks, we have had many intensive conversations with artists, our partners and you, the festival fans, we have continued to deal with the criticism together and decided to remove the band from the program."

According to Distractify, the issue began when Ansemo was accused of racism after attending an event called "Dimebash" at the Lucky Strike Live in Los Angeles, California, in 2016.

Footage from the event quickly made rounds online wherein the musician seemingly shouted "white power" and used an inappropriate salute while performing their song, "A New Level."

Phil Anselmo spoke out about the matter and explained that he was making a joke about the wine he had drank prior to performing at the event. He also apologized at the time, saying, "I am so sorry, and I hope you just ... man, give me another chance to ... just give me another chance."
