Ellen DeGeneres reportedly put Stephen "tWitch" Boss under a lot of strain.
More than a month after tWitch committed suicide in a Los Angeles hotel room, a close friend of the late TV personality revealed the startling information on Wednesday. He was in his forties.
Speaking to Page Six, "RuPaul's Drag Race" judge Todrick Hall disclosed that the "Ellen DeGeneres Show" DJ under extreme pressure following the toxic workplace controversy involving the 65-year-old comedienne since he decided to support her in spite of the terrible allegations made against her.
According to Todrick, "People were looking at him like: 'Why are you still supporting this woman.' And I think he was under a lot of pressure."
He also asserted that tWitch's internet response for standing up for Ellen may have had a bad impact on him and his mental condition even before December 13, 2022, the day he shot himself in the head.
The friend of Stephen "tWitch" Boss went on to say that Boss killed himself because he didn't know what was happening in his life.
However, he added that he understood that "when I get online some days like right now, if I was in the wrong position of where this abuse would keep happening for years and years and years, there's only so much a human being can take."
Todrick recalled the times they made TikTok videos together and stated that Stephen was the type of person who always stood by him, calling him "kind and down to earth."
In 2014, Stephen "tWitch" Boss made his television debut as a DJ on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," which led to his initial rise to fame. He rose to the position of co-executive producer on the Emmy-winning program after six years. The show was deluged with claims of toxic workplace conduct that year, and the host's alleged toxic behavior was beginning to come to light.
After 19 years on the air, Ellen confirmed that her program will end in 2022. On April 28, 2022, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" shot its last episode.
