When Lisa Marie Presley was 25 years old, a startling incident occurred.
After her father's passing in 1977, the only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley became part of Scientology at the age of nine.
She disclosed that Sylvia Taylor, John Travolta's assistant, was responsible for her mother's recruitment to the church.
The late King of Rock 'n' Roll apparently had previous encounters with the church, but he always shieded away, thinking they were just interested in him for his notoriety, and wealth-a notion Lisa Marie shared.
Lisa Marie said that David Miscavige preyed on her family's wealth in an interview with Scientology skeptic, Tony Ortega.
Everything changed when she knew that she could begin receiving her millions of dollars in inheritance once she reached 25.
In an unearthed interview in 2015 after leaving Scientology a year prior, the troubled star said, "At 25, after I got the inheritance, they started grooming me to be this person who would go out and get everyone else in."
The controversial church, according to Lisa Marie, who passed away on January 12 from cardiac arrest, wanted her to start recruiting her celebrity friends, including her second husband, Michael Jackson, even though everyone knew he was a Jehovah's Witness believer.
She maintained in the interview that once the late King of Pop was allegedly tied to child molestation allegations, Scientology changed its attitude about him, adding, "But then they realized he was getting too much bad news."

But Tom Cruise, who Lisa Marie Presley has consistently disliked, remains the most well-known Scientology figure.
Due to their shared interest in the religion, Lisa Marie wasn't coy when asked if she was friends with the "Mission Impossible" star.
"I fu**ing hate Tom," the mom-of-three said during the interview.
"I met him 20 years ago. I said I never want to be in a room with him again."
She stated she liked John Travolta far better than Tom despite the fact that he allegedly converted her mother and then her to the faith.
She admitted that the late Kelly Preston, the late "Dirty Dancing" actor's wife, was her final "Scientology buddy," and that she had been "monitored" by him.
In 2014, Lisa Marie Presley allegedly had an issue with the founder's daughters and quit Scientology. The church, however, denied that the incident actually took place.
