Many fans were excited when Bruce Springsteen announced that he would be going on tour this 2023, however, when the ticket prices were revealed to the public, it caused a major uproar from supporters as they deem it too expensive. More recently, the singer's fan magazine, Backstreets, made a big move amid the high prices.

According to editor-in-chief Christopher Philips who took to the fanzine's official website, the company is stopping its operations after 43 years as a form of protest against the expensive ticket prices of the musician's upcoming series of concerts.

Deadline reported that the magazine started back in 1980 and became the number one source about Springsteen's upcoming gigs, music, and more information about him. It ran for more than four decades and has reached fans from all around the world.

Explaining the reason why the company is closing, Philips noted that they felt "dispirited, downhearted, and, yes, disillusioned" amid the aftermath of the singer's ticket sales in the United States.

"There's no denying that the new ticket price range has in and of itself been a determining factor in our outlook as the 2023 tour approached," the editor-in-chief added.

In addition, Philips admitted that most fans could not afford the current ticket prices and one of the main reasons why they won't publish any content anymore was because most of their readers have lost interest in them.

As of this writing, Bruce Springsteen has not commented on Backstreets' recent announcement.

Bruce Springsteen Tour 2023

Along with his E-Street Band, the musician is currently touring across the United States for his 2023 tour that already began at the Amelie Arena in Tampa, Florida, last February 1.

Upon releasing the official ticket prices to the public last year, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer received backlash from supporters as passes for the highly-anticipated series of shows went up to a staggering $5,000.

At the time, Ticketmaster added a new program called Dynamic Pricing which aims to take a swipe against scalpers who purchase prices and later resell them at a higher amount.

However, not all fans were happy with the move as they deem it too expensive, with one fan writing, "is this the way you wanted to treat your diehard fans? To score #springsteentour2023 tickets, you have to take out a reverse mortgage?"
