Good news for Linkin Park fans! After nearly six years of not releasing any new music or performing at live events, the band is back this 2023 as they're set to drop an archival song that has never been heard by the public; when is it coming out?

Taking to their official social media accounts, the California-based rock band announced that they're releasing a song titled "Lost," a track from their "Meteora" archives that were never released before.

For those who are patiently waiting for the song to release, it will be available for purchase and streaming starting on Friday, February 10. For now, supporters can visit this link to pre-save the song via Apple Music, Deezer, and Spotify.

The unreleased track will drop ahead of "Meteora's" 20th anniversary. The album was their sophomore record and it featured hit songs such as "Somewhere I Belong" and "Numb."

The recent news comes a few days after Linkin Park hinted at their highly-anticipated comeback by sharing a cryptic countdown on their official website, which expired on February 1st. The visuals were later replaced with an interactive puzzle featuring crashed websites and glitching links.

The last time the band released anything amid their indefinite hiatus was in 2020 when their debut album "Hybrid Theory" was reissued across different formats. The anniversary edition of the record also featured some unearthed songs that they never released in the past.

Linkin Park had become significantly quiet after lead singer Chester Bennington passed away in 2017. Since then, the group has not released new music or performed. The last time they got together in a live set-up was in the vocalist's memorial.

Last year, surviving member Mark Shinoda told fans that he and his bandmates still talk to each other and that is the only news related to the band that he could give to their supporters.

"And there's no tours, there's no music, there's no albums in the pipeline. Okay, so let me just tell you that. So just keep in your minds that that is not happening," the musician told his viewers on a Twitch stream. (via NME)

He added that he was not going to reveal more information at the time because he didn't want to disappoint fans as everyone would start to "hype the train."
