Lady Gaga's lyric video for new single "Applause" finally hit the web, a whole two days after it was shot. OK, that was slight sarcasm, but the Mother Monster was a little late to her announced noon release time on Monday. Considering how long it typically takes to put together a Gaga music video, we're sure the fans didn't mind. You can check out the video, shot at Micky's in Hollywood, below.
A more contentious issue that's sure to draw the ire of Gaga fans is a recent cry from Madonna fans that "Applause" is just a rip-off from Madge's 2012 track "Girl Gone Wild." The Madonna camp's claim isn't entirely off base, as both songs share a late '70s/early '80s electro-vibe, but then again it can hardly be said that Madonna invented the form. If one accuses Gaga of stealing from Madonna, they might as well say The Black Keys stole from The White Stripes.
Alas. One offended Madonna fan crafted this video so that you, the listener, can decide for yourself if Gaga's guilty.
