Faith No More, Slipknot and Soundgarden Listed as Soundwave 2015 Headliners as Festival Shifts to Two-Day Format

Soundwave 2015 has announced at least the first part of its headliner-packed lineup, proving once again that the biggest pure rock festivals in the world don't happen on American soil. This year marks a change in direction for the Australian traveling festival, as the action will occur over two days instead of one for the first time. Faith No More, Slipknot and Soundgarden are among the headliners listed.

There will only be four cities on this year's tour after negotiations fell through with cities on the Western side of the country. The two day configuration will allow for the event to occur in two cities at once: One lineup will play in one city, while the second lineup will play in another. The pair will switch the next day. Adelaide and Melbourne will share a weekend on February 21-22, whole;e Sydney and Brisbane will pair up for February 28/March 1.

The festival has traditionally leaked its full lineup in a small trickle as to keep potential concertgoers engaged, but this year's lineups seem fairly packed so far so we'll see what comes down the line. Here are where the lineups stand for now:

Lineup A: Faith No More, Soundgarden, Incubus, Lamb of God, Ministry, Antemasque, Gerard Way

Lineup B: Slipknot, Slash, Marilyn Manson, Fall Out Boy, Judas Priest, Godsmack, Papa Roach

Full lineups thus far can be viewed here.

Soundwave seems to being fine, which is a huge relief for the Australian concert/festival industry. The country has been plagued with problems in the last year, including the cancellation of Big Day Out for 2015. The event lost more than $10 million during 2014 and lost Blur as a headliner at the last moment. Harvest Festival was also cancelled and the status of Warped Tour Australia is unknown.
