Madonna at Grammys 2023 shocked fans due to her "plastic face," and it also caused the public to revisit the plastic surgery rumors surrounding her.

Multiple news outlets shared clips of Madonna's appearance at the recently wrapped-up weekend ceremony where she introduced Sam Smith and Kim Petras' "Unholy" performance. The Queen of Pop suffered criticism and condemnation for her looks, with most of the public slamming her for having a "plastic face" at the Grammys.

Following the criticism, the 64-year-old shared a lengthy Instagram post in which she said the hate comments were rooted in "ageism and misogyny."

Despite her explanation, some still looked back at the plastic surgery rumors surrounding her and her name in the past years.

Madonna's Plastic Surgery Rumors Explored

Madonna never addressed it or admitted to having any work done. However, she constantly spoke about not feeling against plastic surgery but is against discussing it with the public.

In a 2019 interview, she shared how she coped with people's condemnation of her "ageless" looks.

"I think you think about growing old too much. I think you think about age too much," she said. "I think you should just stop thinking about it. Stop thinking, just live your life and don't be influenced by society trying to make you feel some type of way about your age or what it is you're supposed to be doing."

In the same year, she shared a photo of herself after her followers claimed she underwent surgery for her posterior. Madonna captioned her post with, "Desperately Seeking No Ones Approval... And Entitled to Free Agency Over My Body Like Everyone Else!!"

She also responded to one internet user who left a damaging comment about plastic surgery in 2021.

Among the plastic surgery buzz she got involved in was when New York-based plastic surgeon Dr. Steve Fallek said in an interview that the "Material Girl" hitmaker's face does not move anymore. The doctor listed some of the possible enhancements and procedures she went through, including fillers on her cheeks, buccal fat pad reduction, and lip augmentation.

Other experts noted that the "La Isla Bonita" singer looked like she received cosmetic procedures, including Botox, facial peels, and collagen implants, to name a few.

Meanwhile, "Celebrity Plastic Surgeons" star Dr. Jason Diamond said Madonna had overfilled her face already. The expert noted how these unconfirmed enhancement procedures resulted in an "unnatural, squarish, and mannish" face.
