Much about Rihanna's upcoming performance at the Super Bowl LVII halftime show is shrouded in mystery; they're keeping everything under wraps, but that doesn't mean there aren't any speculations.
The Barbadian singer's last music release was back in 2016, and since then, she has kept mostly to herself and built a beauty and lifestyle empire from the ground up.
The years she spent away from making music made fans miss her so much, which is probably why everyone was so surprised to hear that she's finally making a comeback.
The "Disturbia" singer made sure that her return will be the most epic one in music history: not only is she named this year's Super Bowl LVII halftime show headliner, but she also released two new songs.
The start of a new era in Rihanna's career was marked with the release of "Lift Me Up" and "Born Again," songs from the "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" soundtrack.
On top of that, "Lift Me Up" was also nominated for an Oscar by the Academy Awards.
Turning The Tides
According to reports, the Super Bowl will happen on Feb. 12 at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, but there still isn't any news on which songs Rihanna will perform.
However, many speculate that she might perform "Lift Me Up," especially since it's one of her newest releases, but also because it could boost her chances of scoring an Oscar Award.
According to Billboard, performing "Lift Me Up" will amount to the most-viewed "For Your Consideration" ad, and help in the final-round voting for the Oscar Awards.
The song is nominated for Best Original Song at the upcoming Oscar Awards, alongside "Hold My Hand" from "Top Gun: Maverick," "Naatu Naatu" from "RRR," and more.
Aside from "Lift Me UP," Time shared other songs that might be included in Rihanna's Super Bowl halftime setlist like her hit songs "Umbrella, "Only Girl (In The World)," "Work," and viral hits "Bitch Better Have My Money," "Rude Boy," and "S&M."
Despite all the speculations and mystery, Rihanna and her team have sealed their lips shut. No one is certain which songs will really make it, or if she would perform "Lift Me Up" to improve her Oscar votes.
