Blink-182: Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker Promise ‘Something Special’ For Reading & Leeds Festivals

Pop-punk stars Blink-182 have a couple of headlining shows this coming weekend at the UK's Reading and Leeds Festivals, and according to NME, Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker have "something special" in store.

As the festival's headliners, the band has been getting quite a bit of notice as of late ... especially following word that the Take Off Your Pants and Jacket singers are working on new material for an upcoming album. Music Times also reported that the band was gearing up for the Reading and Leeds festival with a couple of shows in London where they brought out the fan-favorite "F*CK" sign.

In a new interview with NME, where the group talks about the upcoming festivals, Blink's guitarist [DeLonge] promised not only a great show, but also some surprises, saying, "We're going to play some songs off our last EP, songs that we haven't played in Europe. That came out at the end of 2012, so we'll do that, and then we'll play a lot of the classics, but we'll have something special that we haven't played for a long, long time that we've brought back and people are going to love that."

And though fans are eagerly expecting new music from the group, it doesn't look like it's going to happen this weekend. DeLonge notes that the band doesn't play music they've yet to release, saying they'd prefer a "nice version" of a track to be heard by fans first. The guitarist also brings in the fact that technology has a lot to do with their decision, "We can't premiere a new song now because it'll be filmed on camera phones and then all over YouTube and suddenly that's the version that everyone knows. We want them to hear the version that we spent time on."

So, we're curious, what Blink-182 song haven't we heard live in a long, long time?
