WWE legend Bill Goldberg publicly shared his "disgust" over Rihanna's 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show performance.
Rihanna took over the stage and performed several hit songs at Glendale, Arizona's State Farm Stadium. Her appearance hyped fans, especially since they have been waiting for her performance while a new album is yet to be determined.
Although she became a trending topic, her performance received mixed reactions from the public. Even Goldberg called her out and branded her performance "disgusting."
During the WWE star's appearance on his "CarCast" podcast after Rihanna's Super Bowl performance, the wrestler said that the whole thing was horrible.
"I thought Rihanna was fr**kin horrible," he said. "I was disgusted by it. That's all. Let's just say that. I thought it was horrible."
Meanwhile, Matt "The Motorator" D'Andria agreed to his comment and said he thought the 34-year-old "Love on the Brain" hitmaker's performance was "kind of boring."
With that, Goldberg called his comment "the understatement of the year."
Although he criticized Rihanna, Goldberg took his time to applaud Chris Stapleton, who sang the National Anthem before the Chiefs-Eagles played.
On the other hand, the pro wrestler known as MVP took to Twitter and commented on the 2023 Super Bowl performance. At the same time, he seemingly called out the critics.
Rihanna Accused of Having "Worst Lip Sync Ever"
Goldberg is just one of the countless viewers who took a shot at Rihanna for her "awful" performance.
Social media users accused the singer of lip-syncing her whole performance, saying that she only appeared to pose and fake her singing. New York Post cited people who called Rihanna's appearance the "worst ever" infraction in halftime shows in history.
They shared several clips of her performance and urged the organizers not to allow lip-syncing at the Super Bowl. It was not the first time, though, as the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Katy Perry were also accused of mouthing their lyrics during their respective Super Bowl halftime performances.
However, the publication noted that the NFL's policy makes all halftime performers' rehearsals be prerecorded live. With that, they can perform it in whatever way they want.
Most performers also opt to sing a little so they can pour their energy into the choreography. But for Rihanna's part, people also accused her of modeling instead of dancing.
