According to the AP, authorities say that Robert Kobe, 55, has died from injuries he received during a confrontation with a 15-year-old boy at the Hank Williams Jr. concert held at DTE Energy Music Theatre on August 17, 2014.

The Oakland County sheriff’s office says that Kobe died on Tuesday, August 19, at a local hospital.

The Detroit Free Press reported that Kobe had gone to the concert with a friend and the friend's teenage son (the young man accused of shoving him). Cory Kobe, the victim's son, said that the incident that caused his father's death appeared to be more horseplay than something malicious. "Did you ever have an uncle who picks on you but doesn’t mean to hurt you? That was my father," the younger Kobe said. "My father was double this kid’s size. There’s no way that kid’s just going to come up and clock my dad with a fatal shove."

The shove in question caused Kobe to strike his head on the concrete. He was found in a pool of blood and was rushed to the hospital, where he was on life support in "very grave" condition.

The teen has been released, but the investigation is ongoing.

This summer has delivered some seriously bad behavior at country music concerts. From the reported gang rape at Michigan's Faster Horses Festival to the "mass casualty event" at the Keith Urban concert in Boston - some fans have not been bringing their A-game to the table at all.
