Shakira has been making headlines recently because of her controversial breakup and custody battle with her ex-partner, football superstar Gerard Pique.

Just today, Shakira and Karol G's highly-anticipated team-up had everyone raving for more!

Apparently, the song "TQG" from Karol G's new album, "Mañana Será Bonito," seemed to be sounding like a huge diss track from both of their exes.

Shakira, Karol G 'TQG' Lyrics Explained

According to Marca's translated lyrics, Shakira and Karol G's "TQG" packs a whole lot of meaning aimed toward their former partners.

"Seeing you with the new one hurt me / but I'm already on my own, what we lived is forgotten, and that's what has offended you," Shakira sang. "And even my life has improved / you are no longer welcome here / what your girlfriend threw at me / that doesn't even make me angry / I laugh."

Shakira famously dated Pique in 2011. Born ten years apart on the same day, the singer linked up with the footballer in her iconic "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) music video. They had two children, Milan and Sasha, born in 2013 and 2015, respectively.

Elsewhere on the song, Shakira fired a similar lyric from her song "Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53."

Now you want to come back / you can tell, (mmm yeah) / wait for me there / as if I'm an idiot," she furthered.

While the two were listed by Forbes as one of the World's Most Powerful Couples, the title seemed to have aged quite quickly as the two announced their separation last June 2022.

Shakira was very poignant in her digs against her ex-partner, recalling her hit, "Monotonia."

"Looking for food somewhere else / saying it was monotony and now you want to go back / I thought so when you liked my photos," she sang with Karol G.

But perhaps the strongest dig of all on Karol G and Shakira's "TQG" lyrics was the latter's indirect message to the infamous third party to her relationship, model Clara Chia.

"tell your new baby that I don't compete for men," she said somewhere along those lines.

In the past week, reports that Pique and Chia were thrown off in a restaurant after they tried to dine-in in at a Japanese restaurant have circulated. Turns out, the owner was a huge Shakira fan, who kicked them out, sending the two on a walk of shame as they were swarmed by paparazzi on their way to their car.
