Karol G and Shakira have been taking over the online world over the past few hours with their smash collaboration "TQG." More recently, the song amassed a new record, making them the first ones to get this achievement in YouTube history.

According to Pop Base, the musicians' music video is now the second biggest debut for a female collaboration in the entire history of the video-sharing platform after amassing a whopping 39.5 million views within 24 hours.

Many fans have been requesting for the two Latin artists to team up for a song together and they finally granted their wishes for the break-up song "TQG."

In early reports, the song might be referencing Shakira's separation from Gerard Pique as the title's acronym means "Te Quedó Grande," in translation, "too much for you to handle."

In a previous interview, Karol G shared her inspiration in writing the hit track, saying it had a personal meaning to her and it evolved through time.

"though it doesn't represent things now, it was a particular moment in my life," she added.

The Latin pop singer also noted that she was inspired by her collaborator's previously released song "Monotonia," saying both of them could understand each other's shortcomings.

After hearing Shakira's song, she noted that "TQG" made a lot of sense, leading her to send it to the former Superbowl Halftime Show headliner and she loved it.

Per Marca, the "Waka-Waka" hitmaker's verse seemingly reflects her true feelings after her divorce with her ex-husband Gerard Pique.

"Seeing you with the new one hurt me, but I'm already on my own, what we lived is forgotten and that's what has offended you," the lyrics read, translated into English.

According to Style Caster, Pique reportedly cheated on his wife with his current lover Clara Chia Marti. The pair were still together at the time of the incident.

An insider spoke to Page Six claims that Marti stayed with the athlete at the couple's home when Shakira was away with their kids.

The musician was said to be "devastated to learn that this woman clearly felt at home in the house they shared with their children."

The source added that the "She Wolf" songstress was broken upon knowing that the affair had been going on for a long time than she thought.

As of this writing, Pique and Martin have not publicly responded to the issue.
