PETA sent a letter to Rihanna's team, which was acquired by TMZ, in which they noted her fur coat, pleaded their case for switching to faux fur, and offered a faux fur coat. Lisa Lange, senior vice president of PETA, mentions Rihanna's growing brood in her letter.
"As a mother, you know what it's like to feel protective and to want to make sure no harm comes to your family. Please understand that this desire - this instinct even - is shared by the minks, foxes, and rabbits who are torn away from their families and killed for their fur."
PETA then asks Rihanna if she could please assist her children grow up in a kinder environment by deciding now that she will no longer wear fur. The organization offers to accept any of Rihanna's fur garments and distribute them to earthquake survivors in Syria and Turkey. PETA asserts that these individuals have a legitimate reason to wear real fur because they have lost everything and must now endure the winter.
