Ed Sheeran, Florida Georgia Line Want to Collaborate on New Music: 'Don't' Singer and 'Dirt' Duo Have Discussed Writing Together

Ed Sheeran: Don't

But don't necessarily expect the collaboration anytime soon...

"We haven't discussed it further than a conversation, but it's something we both want to happen," Sheeran said in a new interview with USA Today.

The revelation of a possible future collaboration between Sheeran and Florida Georgia Line comes at a big time for both acts. While Sheeran is prepping to kick off his arena tour of the U.S., the country duo is gearing up to release its sophomore album, Anything Goes.

Earlier this month, Florida Georgia Line announced it will be releasing its follow up to the 2012 album Here's To The Good Times on Oct. 14. Led by the single "Dirt," the album will be 12 songs long and reflect the band's meteoric rise to fame.

"This whole album is kind of like how album one was for us... kind of where we are at this point in our lives, who we've become," Tyler Hubbard said in the band's Good Morning America album announcement. "To be honest, we've learned a lot from our fans and a lot from playing every single night for the last three years. So, we're excited. We tried to step up our game, and we're ready for you guys to hear it."

Meanwhile, Sheeran will kick off his North American x tour tonight (Aug. 21) in Seattle.
