Priscilla Presley and Riley Keough are apparently still not speaking, despite the fact that Oscar season is approaching.
As a result, it has been announced that Elvis Presley's former wife will be leading the push for the "Elvis" film at the Academy Awards in two weeks.
Riley is also alleged to be taking a back seat and giving Priscilla full rein.
Riley is being "kept away" from possible trouble despite being the granddaughter of the renowned King of Rock' n' Roll.
According to The Sun, the "Daisy Jones and the Six" actress will not walk the red carpet on March 12, leaving all film marketing to her grandma, who will be accompanied by actor Austin Butler and director Baz Luhrmann.
The family turmoil is believed to be producing a lot of behind-the-scenes tension, with Priscilla Presley and Riley Keough's agents, handlers, and family friends all yearning for a resolution.
The 77-year-old is fighting Lisa Marie Presley's will, which erased her mother from it and left all of her wealth to Riley and her late brother, Benjamin, according to TMZ.
"She has been there the entire development of this project and wants to see it out on the greatest night in Hollywood," an unidentified Priscilla friend told The Sun.
The friend claims that if Lisa Marie were still alive, she would have been with her mother for the elegant night - but many people want Riley to be there.
"Riley wants her mother to be there, but going down the carpet together is now out of the question."
Friends of Priscilla and Riley have also apparently attempted to ease tensions and unify in honor of the film and Elvis Presley, but this is unlikely to happen.
"Riley's emotions are already very up and down dealing with the loss of her mother and fight with her grandmother as well as dealing with PR promotion and raising her baby."
'Elvis' Oscars 2023
The biography of Elvis Presley initially aired in May 2022 at the Cannes Film Festival, and it has gained steam since then.
Austin Butler, the film's starring actor, has garnered several nominations, including Best Actor for BAFTA, Oscars, and other ceremonies.
This is also why many people believe he will win Best Actor at the Oscars.
On Rotten Tomatoes, "Elvis" garnered a 94% audience rating and an A-Cinemascore. It garnered a $150 million gross domestic topping.
