Ed Sheeran just released a string of announcements that surprised and saddened his fans all over the world.
First off, Sheeran finally announced what is presumed to be the last album of his Mathematics era, "-" (Subtract), which followed his album, "=" (Equals).
The "Subtract" album release date will be on May 2023.
Sheeran took to Instagram to announce the news, which includes the shocking news about his wife, Cherry Seaborn.

According to Sheeran's Instagram post, his pregnant wife, Cherry, has been diagnosed with a tumor since last year.
However, the only treatment plan, as Sheeran announced, will only be available once Cherry delivers their child.
"I felt like I was drowning, head below the surface, looking up but not being able to break through for air," Sheeran confessed about creating his new album.
Last year, Sheeran also saw the death of his best friend, Jamal Edwards, who was instrumental in his success in music. He also shared the mental blowback of his infamous "Shape of You" copyright lawsuit, which he eventually won.
"I found myself standing in court defending my integrity and career as a songwriter. I was spiraling through fear, depression and anxiety," he furthered.

But despite all the problems that Sheeran faced, he is optimistic that the release of his upcoming new album, including a Europe and UK tour would help his overall state. (via NME)

Sheeran's upcoming performances and concerts seemed to have been limited because of his upcoming album release and tending to his wife's needs.

In February 2023, it was announced that both Sheeran and Adele declined King Charles III's upcoming coronation in May 2023.
The Royal was reported to have been very keen on having the two Brits performing at his grand coronation.
According to OK! Magazine, sources reveal that Sheeran has had prior commitments on touring and declined due to logistical concerns while Adele did not respond at all to the King's requests.
