Just before Latto head on to Billboard Women in Music Awards last Mar. 1, 2023, she dragged a "fan" on Twitter over a tweet criticizing the Billboard Hot 100 placement of her song, "Lottery."
The song, released Feb. 17, 2023, is a pop-rap collaboration of the "Big Energy" hitmaker with Congolese-Canadian singer-songwriter LU KALA.
The song debuted at No. 83, despite Latto's heavy promotion of the song. The song was heavily marketed on social media, and LED Billboards on New York City.
The "Lottery" music video reached 1 million views on YouTube, not more than two days since it was released. Since then Latto fans have been roaring for a higher debut placement of the song.
On the most recent Billboard charts last Feb. 27, 2023, "Lottery" launched at No. 83. Despite not breaking it in to the Top 50, both Latto and Lu Kala achieved a feat on the track. It became Lu Kala's first ever Billboard Hot 100 charting song, and Latto's highest debut yet.
According to Luminate, the song debuted with 4.2 million official streams and only 1,200 downloads in the US. It also charted on Rap Airplay at No. 25, Pop Airplay at No. 28, and No. 30 on the Rhthymic Airplay charts.
Her Grammy-nominated song "Big Energy," debuted at No. 88 back then.
Despite the low placement, Latto was grateful and kept on encouraging her fans to stream the song.

However, a user, who claimed to be her fan have pointed out the disconnect of the predictions to the actual placement of the song on the charts.
"I thought Yalll said this was the one! It didn't even Break top 50! Let alone top 20 Top 10, Top 5, Top 3, NUMBER 1... I was wondering why it was soo quiet But like I always say Anything in the Top 100 is a Hit!" user Armon Wiggins said in a tweet.
Wiggins was plagued by Latto fans, pointing out his dubious take on the chart placement.of "Lottery."
"So now you against Latto. is she paying you now???" someone asked.
"Give the song a chance to grow on the general public. Weird of you to expect a basically unknown artist and a upcoming female rapper to come out the gate debuting with Ariana grande numbers," another replied.
Latto, on the other hand, had some harsher words.
