Karol G is taking a break from performing onstage, but she reassures fans that it will be for the best.
The Colombian singer-songwriter will be taking a step back from a very vital part of her music career to reassess it and try out something new.
"This year I'm not going to be on stage as much because I've decided to take a break from the stage so I can study and evolve in other aspects," she revealed.
Like most artists, Karol G wants to take more control over her music and its production; "I want to study because making music for myself on tour pushed me so much," she explained.
"Learning to record myself, learning to produce a lot more, learning to develop myself in so many aspects of my life, which before I was used to having someone do it for me."
Despite the music hiatus, the singer left fans with several positive notes that will keep them from panicking-a promise that her next album will be a complete banger.
"I think that the break I'm taking will be very positive, I think my next album will be very experimental for me."
Karol G Switches Gears
This is not the first time the singer has professed how important music is to her, in fact, after her break up from Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA, she talked about how she lost sight of what was really important to her.
"Not everything [is] about numbers and charts. It was hard because everybody was seeing that I was in the top of my career, but maybe ... inside I was losing like the most valuable things in my life," Karol G remarked.
This new chapter of her life has allowed her to be more vulnerable and in touch with her emotions.
"I always try to keep a positive attitude all the time. And I talk a lot to myself all the time and all those moments, I was like, letting myself be sad, letting myself feel as I cry and in a lot of things and just keep in my mind, like, maybe tomorrow is going to be different and maybe tomorrow is going to be beautiful," she continued.
This raw side of Karol G will be seen, listened to, and experienced by fans through her recently released album, "Mañana Será Bonito" which translates to "Tomorrow Will Be Pretty."
While there won't be any new material coming from the singer this 2023, fans can expect that her comeback the following year will be explosive.
