Earl Simmons, better known as DMX, died on April 9th, 2021. He died at the age of 50 from a heart attack and associated brain impairment.

According to reports, the rapper was taken to the hospital after suffering a heart attack at his home in White Plains, New York.

Although in serious condition, he was first placed on life support, and his family and loved ones kept vigil outside the hospital.

DMX's health did not improve despite the efforts of medical personnel to save his life, and he died a few days later.

DMX has a lengthy history of substance usage and had previously struggled with a variety of health difficulties, including asthma and addiction.

The funeral for DMX was place on April 24, 2021, at the Barclays Arena in Brooklyn, New York. Thousands of fans, friends, and family members attended the event to offer their condolences to the iconic rapper.

As tragic as DMX's death was, it motivated the late rapper's daughter to raise awareness about drug addiction and fentanyl use in the United States.

Sonovah Hillman Jr., 10, claimed she participated in a 10-week program conducted by Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) where she learned about the hazards of drugs and the addiction that ensued.
