BTS is going on a hiatus, but it isn't all bad; RM definitely sees the silver lining in the situation.
With South Korea's mandatory military enlistment looming over the boy group, the group decided that it was better to pause group activities and pursue individual pursuits.
During his interview with EFE, BTS' leader and rapper RM shared his thoughts on his new status as a solo artist.
"After 10 years as a member of BTS, I didn't know who I was and I wanted to know," he remarked. "I started out as a teenage rapper, then BTS came along and it was all very intense.
"Now that the group is inactive, I've gone back to thinking about the beginnings and the real reasons why I joined BTS."
Instead of feeling down about the situation, RM has decided to take a positive outlook on it, noting that this hiatus "can be beneficial to him as an artist."
He revealed his secret behind making music, "Some great work is born in personally chaotic moments."
Although he did not elaborate on what exactly were those "personally chaotic moments," one can only assume that it stems from being such a successful and world-renowned KPOP idol.
"When you are famous, staying on top is very difficult," RM reflected.
BTS' fans would have to wait for the entire group to finish their 18-month enlistment, which will be determined by both the members and their ages.
As of this writing, only one member has entered the military, the group's eldest member, Kim Seokjin, who enlisted in December 2022.
Reports note that the next member who will enlist is the group's resident main dancer, J-Hope.
While this is on going, other members are preparing for their solo pursuits: Suga is embarking on a world tour, "Agust D," while RM and Jimin are gearing up for their own releases.
According to reports, RM is looking into collaborating with Latina superstar Rosalia, while J-Hope has collaborated with J. Cole for his recently released single.
Despite everything going on with BTS, its leader remains positive and hopeful that they will return soon.
"I think BTS will make it. It will come together again when we finish our military service," he said. "And we will look for new synergies between us to enter a second phase. But, in any case, nothing lasts forever."
