Miley Cyrus' music has evolved throughout the years, as she took on different images and aesthetics; "Endless Summer Vacation" is the reflection of her current self.
If there's anything that Cyrus' chart-topping hit "Flowers" has proved, it's that she is long over her ex, Liam Hemsworth, and she is ready to move forward with her life.
But that doesn't mean that fans won't scour every lyric to see if the 30-year-old singer wrote anything else about Hemsworth.
As per Rolling Stone, Cyrus managed to captivate listeners with "Flowers" simply by being her authentic self.
After years of enduring the rocky relationship, Cyrus and Hemsworth finally called it quits, and the fire that burned their home in 2019 put things into perspective for the singer.
She once said in an interview that it "did what I couldn't do myself. It removed me from what no longer was serving its purpose."
Perhaps this big shift in her life has pushed her to change her course when it came to her music once again.
According to Variety, none of Cyrus' previously released albums sound anything like "Endless Summer Vacation."
'Endless Summer Vacation'
The singer's eighth studio album opens with "Flowers," followed by "Jaded" and "Rose Colored Lenses."
"Thousand Miles" with Brandi Carlile, "You," "Handstand," "River," and Violent Chemistry."
The most eyebrow-raising of all the tracks is "Muddy Feet" featuring Sia, then there's "Wildcard," "Island," "Wonder Woman," and the album closes with the demo version of "Flowers."
While most of the songs can easily be traced back to Hemsworth, after all, he was Cyrus' greatest love, here is one of the most telling songs that people think is about him.
There's "Jaded," the second song of the album, it follows the singer going through stages of regret because of missed opportunities.
The lyrics go: "I don't wanna call and talk too long/ I know it was wrong, but never said I was sorry/ Now I've had time to think it over/ We're much older and the bone's too big to bury."
As per Seventeen, the singer apologizes to their ex after going through "hell" with them, and not really recovering from it.
"I'm sorry that you're jaded/ I could've taken you places/ You're lonely now and I hate it/ I'm sorry that you're jaded."
