Jason Kaye, a popular UK garage and hardcore DJ during the 90s rave scene, has passed away at the age of 54.

According to DJ Mag, the musician was a part of the trio Top Buzz and has been influential during the early 90s because of the thriving rave scene at the time.

After the news of his death made rounds online, many close friends have shared their sentiments on social media, with Doc Scott writing, "I don't really know what to say apart from this one has really upset me, if you went to raves back in the day you were a fan of Top Buzz, including myself, it was an honour to share the stage with you, I'm truly gutted."

Other musicians like DJ Logan Sama also shared a tribute by honoring his previous works like being responsible for many projects in different genres. He also recalled how Jason Kaye shared his platforms with up-and-coming artists for their careers to start.

Who Was Jason Kaye?

Per the outlet, the DJ, whose real name is Jason Kyriakides, was one of the members of Top Buzz along with Mad P and DJ Mikee. Their career started in 1988.

The trio was responsible for the popularity of jungle techno sound. One of their songs titled "Livin' In Darkness" became a hit to fans, especially at Rage parties.

In addition to his first group, the musician was also part of the duo New Jack Pimps and Van Kleef during the mid-90s. Following this, he went solo and continued his UK garage career.

Jason Kaye founded the record label Social Circles. The company worked with several artists like Zed Bias, Sticky and The Wideboys, Steve Gurley, and many more.

The record label also helped launch the group Ordinary People featuring Kaye, Russell Tait, Chris McFarlane, and Steve Gurley. They had six albums dating back from 1997 to 2000. One of their most popular tracks is "Baby You Make My Heart Sing."

Regarding his solo career under Jason Kaye, his most famous project is "Soudbwoy" released in 2001.
