During the early days of One Direction's popularity following their appearance on "The X Factor," musician and group member Louis Tomlinson expressed a sense of dominance.
He has always been forthright about his time with the well-known band, never shying away from addressing it in public.
Louis, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne were brought together on a British reality competition show in 2010, and their path to international recognition started.
As the weeks went, it became evident that these young guys had something special, and the band's fan base grew.
Even though they did not win "The X Factor," their accomplishments are remembered as some of the most astounding ever witnessed, making them a legendary group.
In a teaser trailer for his new documentary per Billboard, "All of Those Voices," Louis, a 31-year-old Doncaster-born singer-songwriter and former boy band member, frankly spoke out about his experiences with the group.
He revealed, "I used to think it would be great to have a boyband that didn't just get songs written for them - but instead created something new."
"Maybe we should be writing our own songs, I could feel stuff bubbling for us, I could see that we'd got people's attention."
The dad-of-one further explained, "I realized that we might be able to make a few of our own decisions and that was the first moment in my One Direction career that I felt ownership of what we were doing."
Describing his experience being part of one of the biggest boybands in the world, Louis Tomlinson detailed how singing a song from One Direction made him feel more "powerful."
"It was like I was taking back control."
Louis, the band's eldest member, claimed that for the first two and a half years, he felt helpless and unable to effectively affect his position.

When asked what he was most proud of as a member of the band, Louis said it was having the most songwriting credits throughout their history.
He also joyfully admitted that this made him feel significant to the band, which was exactly what he longed for.
The "Walls" hitmaker is going to inform fans about his extraordinary journey from group member to solo artist.
Before the band's disbandment in 2016, Louis Tomlinson will explain his achievements in producing some of their most popular songs, including "No Control," "Perfect," "Diana," "Strong," "Night Changes," and many more.
According to various reports, One Direction's net worth is between $150 million and $200 million, which includes revenue from album sales, concerts, merchandise, and endorsement deals.
"All of Those Voices" is out worldwide on March 22.
