Taylor Swift's "The Eras" tour has finally kicked off, and Swifties worldwide are celebrating as she finally performed some of the songs that fans have been craving for to hear since then!
To say that Taylor Swift "The Eras" tour was massive is already an understatement; for some, Taylor Swift's tour is monumental. Performing more than 40 songs in a span of almost four hours is a huge daunting feat on its own - that is why it is really warranted for Swifties to call her "the music industry."
In her two-day show in Arizona, which was temporarily called Swift City, she performed surprise songs from her discography that weren't included on her actual setlist.
"The plan, the goal, would be to play different songs every single night and never repeat one. Right?" Taylor said of performing a new song per show. "Right? So that when you heard one on this tour, you would know it's the only time that I was going to play it in the acoustic set, unless - caveat - unless I mess it up so badly that I have to do it over again in some other city. Send your best wishes to me that I don't do that."
Taylor Swift 'The Eras' Tour Surprise Songs
State of Grace
Despite being the first track of her "Red" albums, Taylor surprised everyone when she performed a live version of "State of Grace" on her second day in The State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The arena rock song has peaked only at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 on both of its re-releases and has been certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.
Tim McGraw
What better way to look back at her music career than to perform her debut single on her first day of "The Eras" tour? "Tim McGraw," Swift's emotional debut single, was the only song from her debut album that made the cut on her tour setlist.
"I was thinking about tonight and how special this is," she said of the song she released 17 years ago. "So I thought it might be kind of fun to play the very first song I ever put out."
this is me trying
Already certified Silver in the United Kingdom, "this me trying," the ninth track from the Grammy-winning album "folklore" gets a live performance after three years. She performed the song on the second day in Glendale, Arizona.
mirrorball
Still from "folklore," "mirrorball" has finally debuted on a live performance by Swift since it was released. The song strayed away from her autobiographical songwriting themes. Vogue reported that the song reflected Swift's state of mind during the COVID-19 quarantine.
