"Brokeback Mountain" will be finally having its stage adaptation in the West End, as Mike Faist and Lucas Hedges are set to take on the roles.
However, it is not to be confused with the Ang Lee classic released in 2005, as the story will be based on Annie Proulx's short story, the original material on which the 2005 film was based.

According to Deadline, Mike Faist, popularly known for his role as Riff on "West Side Story" and Connor Murphy on the original production of "Dear Evan Hansen," is set to be playing the role of Jack Twist. The character was previously played by Jake Gyllenhaal.
On the other hand, Lucas Hedges, known for his films like "The Grand Budapest Hotel," "Labor Day," "Lady Bird," and "Manchester By The Sea," earned him an Academy Award Nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 2016. He will be playing the role of Ennis Del Mar, where the late Heath Ledger originated.
As for the other cast members of "Brokeback Mountain" on West End, casting has yet to be announced. Meanwhile, the outlet reported that Jonathan Butterel, the brilliant mind behind "Everybody's Talking About Jamie," will be helming the director's chair as Dan Gillespie Sells will be tapped to do some writing on the music.
