SZA is in the middle of touring across North America to sing her classic hits and newer ones from her smash album, "SOS." Recently, the R&B artist performed in a city that made her emotional; what was the reason for her sadness?

According to MSN, the singer took the stage of the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. The musician sang tracks from her usual lineup, but when she started singing "Nobody Gets Me," she admitted that performing it in the city made her extra sad.

"I'm feeling extra sad because the person I wrote this song about lives here," SZA said while being suspended above thousands of her fans.

SZA 'Nobody Gets Me' Meaning: Was It About Her Ex-Fiancé?

According to Song Meanings, SZA has been lowkey with her love life as she didn't reveal more information about her dating history to the public.

The only two people fans know she dated were Drake for a brief moment and a non-celebrity man named Scott Sasso.

However, the song "Nobody Gets Me" details her connection with someone she was reportedly previously engaged to but their relationship didn't work out despite being together for 11 years.

Based on the timeline, SZA started dating the said person before she dropped her album "Ctrl" in 2017. The song explores her career blowing up as she admitted going "on the road" left her lover "feeling empty" while her popularity skyrocketed.

In addition, she also admitted in the song that she hooked up with other men, but it was unclear if the affairs happened before or after they broke up.

In the end, despite having a mega-successful career, she couldn't get over the guy as she sings in the lyrics, "What's left of you / How am I supposed to tell you / I don't wanna see you with anyone but me? / Nobody gets me like you / How am I supposed to let you go?"

As of this writing, SZA did not reveal the identity of the man who inspired her song.
