Davido took some time off from the spotlight after the tragic death of his son; it took him months to mourn and process his loss.
However, it seems like the Nigerian singer is getting back on his feet and returning to another love of his life: music.
According to reports, Davido announced that he is making a comeback with the release of his upcoming fourth studio album called "Timeless."
"There is a time for everything," read the singer's statement. "A time to grieve and a time to heal. A time to laugh and a time to dance. A time to speak and a time for silence."
"I do all of this in my own time, grounded by your love which is 'Timeless'."
The singer also released a teaser video for the album, which showed clips from his 11-year-long career including some performances, behind-the-scenes clips, and more.
He captioned the video by thanking his fans, their support and understanding: "Thank you to everyone out there for your love and support that has held me down.
"All the love and messages while I was away, the gifts sent, the concerts you all threw! I appreciate it all.
"Today, I want to remind you all that what is now Timeless, was once new. It's time for new."
'Timeless'
The announcement is not entirely a surprise to his fans. Davido revealed last December that he was planning to make a comeback back this month, but did not divulge any specific details.
This is the first time he is releasing music since the death of his son, Ifeanyi, in October 2022.
According to reports, Davido's son drowned in their own pool; it caused the singer to turn away from the world.
He kept mostly to himself, and no longer posted on social media. So when he suddenly removed all his pictures and profile pictures, it captured fans' attention.
It signaled that the Afrobeats star was finally ready to head back and had new material up his sleeve.

Loss
Davido's last release was back in 2020, "A Better Time," which featured some of the biggest and hottest stars like Nicki Minaj, Nas, Lil Baby, Tiwa Savage, and more.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, he revealed that making music isn't always easy especially after all the experiences he's gone through in the past couple of years, but it is also what keeps him going.
"Sometimes I might not be the happiest," he explained. "You might see me on the road [and, still] I'll try to smile, because at the end of the day, that's my job. My job is to entertain. My music makes people happy."
