Kiss fans would have to wait a little longer because the biopic isn't coming until next year, but here's everything to expect in "Shout It Out Loud."
Formed in the 1970s, Kiss has released decades worth of music and materials, but it was not until several years later did they rose to prominence.
Through their forthcoming biopic "Shout It Out Loud," the rock band's first four years will finally be unveiled to fans.
From their early performances that saw less than 20 people in the audience to the moment, they came out with their iconic band name and logo.
"It's a biopic about the first four years of Kiss," remarked Kiss' manager Doc McGhee. "We're just starting it now. We've already sold it, it's already done, we have a director, McGhee [Entertainment]. That's moving along and that'll come in '24."
According to reports, "Shout It Out Loud" will be on Netflix in 2024, directed by Joachim Ronning, the director of some of the biggest box office hits like "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil" and "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales."
Who is Kiss?
As per the statement released about the band, they described the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group in the most modest way possible.
"Kiss was born in New York City. On 23rd Street. Half a century ago," it read. "It will be a privilege and honor to finish touring at Madison Square Garden, 10 blocks and 50 years from where we first started."
Kiss is known as the band who wore face paint and had crazy hairstyles, which really set them apart then-until now.
Fans can expect to see the four original members of Kiss in the biopic: Paul Stanley, the vocalist and rhythm guitarist; Gene Simmons, another vocalist and the bass guitarist; Ace Frehley, the lead guitarist and vocalist; and finally Peter Criss with the drums and vocals.
Cast
As of this writing, the cast for the four members is yet to be disclosed, but Stanley shared that they have been looking for actors who can fit the role in terms of age.
"For casting to be accurate in terms of age, we are looking at actors in their early 20s," Stanley explained. "Honestly, I don't know a whole lot of actors in their early 20s. When people get asked these kinds of questions, they'll say, 'Oh, Brad Pitt,' or this one or that one.
"Well, those guys are in their 50s or 60s, so you're talking about another generation of actors. And I'm the first to say I'm not up on a lot of them."
Kiss members will also be keeping a close eye on who will be portraying them on screen.
But as the casting process goes on, I'll certainly be there and watching. It'll be interesting to see how someone else - be it the casting people or the director - how they view who I am and who they see doing that. I think I'll learn a lot about their perception of me by who they cast," the vocalist added.
