Last week, the CMT Music Awards announced its list of performers, but it appears that there will be more artists to be featured in the event as they dropped a lineup featuring some of the most powerful women in music; who are the additional performers for this year's ceremony?
According to Billboard, female musicians like Gwen Stefani, Shania Twain, and Alanis Morisette are now added as performers for the awards show.
The event will take place at the Moody Center in Austin Texas on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET.
CMT Music Awards 2023: Why Would the Three Women Perform?
This will be the first time Stefani would perform at the annual show as she will be collaborating with Carly Pearce for a performance.
On the other hand, Morissette would also play for the first time, but her performance will help celebrate the 10th anniversary of the program's "Next Woman of Country" franchise.
The 90s icon will play her smash hit single "You Oughta Know" together with CMT Next Woman of Country awardees Ingrid Andress, Madeline Edwards, Morgan Wade, and Lainey Wilson.
Lastly, Twain will perform as she is this year's CMT Equal Play Award honoree. The award is for the people who worked as an advocate for diversity and someone who fights for the rights of the underrepresented in the industry of country music.
