Kurt Cobain was discovered dead in his Seattle residence.
However, he is thought to have died three days earlier, on April 5, 1994, at the age of 27. An electrician who had been at the residence to conduct some repair discovered his body.
The police investigation revealed that Cobain died from a self-inflicted headshot wound and committed suicide with a shotgun.
For many years, the Nirvana leader suffered with drug addiction, physical pain, and depression.
He had already tried suicide and checked himself into treatment just a few months before his death. His mental health, however, worsened, and he succumbed to his inner demons.
Kurt's passing was heartbreaking for his fans and the music business alike.
He was widely recognized as one of his generation's most influential artists, and his band Nirvana helped to define the sound of 1990s alternative rock.
Kurt Cobain's Suicide Note
Ian Halperin, an author and award-winning journalist, has spent decades researching Kurt Cobain's death and is now ready to share his discoveries with the world.
He said that the rock star could not have lifted the rifle or pulled the trigger for his deadly blow.
But now, Ian claims that there is proof in his suicide note that Kurt did not write it.
He told The Mirror that he had the suicide letter examined by handwriting specialists, who determined that Kurt did not write it.
He told the outlet, "[The experts] said the last five lines of the notes was the only part of the note to deal with suicide, but it wasn't in Kurt's handwriting."
"Even her [Courtney Love's] own entertainment attorney says she didn't believe Kurt Cobain wrote a suicide note. That's like powerful."

Kurt Cobain's Death Conspiracy
Some conspiracy theories and conjecture have suggested that Kurt Cobain's death was murder rather than suicide. There is, however, no convincing evidence to back up these allegations.
Kurt Cobain's death was ruled a suicide by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head by the Seattle Police Department and the King County Medical Examiner's Office.
This judgment was reinforced by evidence recovered at the site, including a suicide note found beside Kurt's body and a used shotgun.
Some conspiracy theorists believe that he had a high amount of heroin in his system at the time of his death, making it impossible for him to have fired the gun himself.
Experts have noticed, however, that persons who have a high level of heroin tolerance may nevertheless function and complete complicated activities.
