Shakira and Gerard Pique has been making headlines since they got divorced and the latter is finally speaking out about the negativity and hate he received amid his issues with the Latin icon.
According to Page Six, the football star recently sat down with Gerard Romeo for an interview where they discussed how he's been handling the negative reactions he'd been receiving online since he and his ex-wife separated months ago.
The retired athlete said the criticism he got was "bad" in the beginning to the point that if the comments got into his head, he "would have thrown" himself off a cliff. (the interview was translated from Spanish to English by the outlet)
One of the reasons why he survived the negative reactions was because of his nonchalant attitude.
Gerard Pique Believes People Are Not Paying Attention to More Important Matters
Elsewhere in the conversation, Pique said the majority of the public's issues only happen when they only care about the things that "aren't that important."
He further explained that the only things people should be worrying about are relationships, families, as well as serious health issues.
Gerard Pique later went back to the topic of criticism, saying he received "millions of barbarities" when the issue between him and Shakira made rounds online as she is Latin American and the majority of her fans are Latinos and Latinas.
Speaking about his feelings today, the football athlete said, "But I don't care about any of it. Honestly, not at all because I don't know them. These people have no lives and why should I care? I'll never meet them, they're robots, you know?"
Gerard Pique Furious Over Shakira Moving to Miami With Their Children?
The recent interview comes after Mirror UK reported that Gerard Pique was only given "days' notice" by the Latina musician when she decided that she would move to the United States with their children, leading him to get mad.
Shakira experts Laura Fa and Lorena Vasquez of El Periodico later reported that the singer's lawyer relayed the information to Pique's attorney about the life-changing move.
The former married couple then conversed through a phone call to confirm Shakira's move, but the athlete was mad as he didn't have any idea when the "Whenever, Wherever" songstress and their children will leave Barcelona.
In other updates, Shakira's collaboration song with Bizzarap titled "Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53" became one of the biggest songs over the past few months since it was released.
The track was reportedly inspired by the singer's divorce from her former husband.
