Anitta is finally parting ways with Warner Music Group after publicly venting out her frustrations to her own label about the alleged mismanagement on the side of the company.
In many pronouncements in the past, Anitta went to the lengths of even offering her own organs just to get out of the contract with Warner Music Group, sparking questions and speculations on the alleged dubious contract that she had signed.
Anitta vs Warner Music Group
Last Mar. 8, 2023, Anitta posted a scathing message written in Portuguese, detailing her frustrations and dispute with her music label.
Attacking one of Warner Music Group's International Women's Month greetings using her photo, the Brazilian superstar said that she "had to go public to ask for the 'woman respect'" the said post represented.
She even revealed that her song, "Envolver," was doubted by Warner, saying that it would "never break," without her getting a featured artist, even pointing out that she could not do it alone.
However, Anitta proved them wrong. She became the first Brazilian and first woman to win Best Latin Video at the MTV Video Music Awards, even reaching the No. 1 on Billboard's Global Excl. U.S. chart and on Spotify's Global list.
Her self-directed music video for the song even topped YouTube's Global Top Music Videos chart, which now has more than 500 million views.
Now, in a joint statement posted, they revealed that after eleven years of "successful partnership," the two entities have separated ways. Anitta turned off the comments of the said post, but it has amassed more than 130,000 likes as of this writing.
She has not publicly commented on the news aside from the said post. She hasn't even revealed which label she will be signing now that she is free.
Anitta Auctioning Her Organs To Get Out Warner?
Signing with Warner Music Brazil in 2013 and Warner Music in 2020, Anitta had hoped that her album "Versions Of Me," would be something that could cement her success into international stardom. (via Billboard)
While she earned a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist because of it, she had a hard time doing so.
In the past, Anitta took to Twitter to reveal that if she could "auction" her organs off to pay and get out of the Warner music plea deal, she most definitely would.
"When you're young and still don't know a lot, you need to pay close attention to the things you sign... if you don't, you could spend a lifetime paying for the mistake," she continued.
