For longtime fans of the rock duo and the movie musical "School of Rock," good days are upon us, as Black had the most encouraging answer!
"Yup. Both of them," he said. "Breaking news. We're thinking about doing both of those."
Released on October 3, 20 years ago in 2003, "School of Rock" featured Jack Black, Emmy-winning actresses Joan Cusack and Sarah Silverman, "The White Lotus" director and comedian Mike White, and an ensemble cast of child actors including Miranda Crosgrove and the late Kevin Clark.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Jack Black revealed to Entertainment Tonight that given a chance for a "School of Rock" reunion, he would find it awkward to see the kids again, as they were ten years old back then and are now burgeoning 30-year-olds.
"We're gonna get together and have a 20-year anniversary. We like to jam," he told the outlet. "I'm looking forward to seeing all of the grownups from School of Rock."
'School of Rock' Reunion Movie, Release Date
Details of how the "School of Rock" reunion would actually take place are still fuzzy as of this writing. Black provided no further details of the "School of Rock" reunion other than he is passionate about meeting with his former co-stars again.
It is unknown if he would gather his adult co-stars - Cusack, White, and Silverman - for the grand homecoming aside from the band. Meanwhile, in the same Entertainment Tonight interview, Black assured that he would most definitely be sharing the "School of Rock" reunion footage on social media.
'School of Rock' The Musical
Because of its widespread critical and fan acclaim, "School of Rock" was turned into a Broadway musical with songs written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Glenn Slater.
Although the 2016 Original Broadway production did well, it has not won any Tony Awards; it has been nominated for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Actor in a Musical by Alex Brightman.
