Suge Knight, former CEO of Death Row Records, was reportedly shot multiple times at 1:30 a.m. Sunday at West Hollywood nightclub 1 Oak for Chris Brown's pre-VMA party. According to TMZ, the former label boss was shot in the stomach and and arm.
Tyson Beckford, Richard Ri'chard, and Apple de Ap told TMZ that they heard four shots ring out inside the club during Brown's pre-VMA party.
TMZ notes that Knight was able to walk out of the club on his own before he was spotted by a police officer who later put Suge in an ambulance to a local hospital.
According to the L.A. Times, details of the shooting weren't immediately clear, though their source said Knight's wounds didn't look lifethreatening.
They noted that a 32-year-old man and a 19-year-old women were also wounded and taken to the hospital to recover.
As the L.A. Times pointed out, this is the second time Knight has been shot at a VMA-related party. Back in 2005, he was shot in the leg at a party hosted by Kanye West.
An eyewitness of the event believes that the shot was meant for Brown.
"Literally can't believe what I just witnessed. Someone tried to fire shots at Chris Brown at 1oak. Speechless," Katie Clendon wrote on her Twitter.
Brown took to Twitter to comment on the shooting. "It's disappointing that we as a society can't have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes. Miss me with the bullsh*t!!!"
