Just like everyone else, celebrities aren't immune to ugly crying-Katy Pery sure isn't.
The "Teenage Dream" singer took to Instagram with a clip of herself bawling her eyes out as she watched an "American Idol" contestant perform.
Perry was so moved by the performance, she could not help but express it; despite her best efforts not to.
"Hi, this is my ugly cry face," Perry wrote in the Instagram caption. "Watch ['American Idol'] now to get [yours]."
Almost as if she summoned the person whose ugly cry made it into pop and meme culture after sobbing on-screen, Kim Kardashian showed up on the singer's comment section; she replied, "We all have one."
For those who haven't seen Kardashian's crying face, Buzzfeed has collected some stills from "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," where the reality star is constantly crying about one thing or another.
Fans React
Fans began taking to the "The One That Got Away" singer's comments section and sharing their thoughts on the hilarious exchange.
"This comment needs to go down in history," an Instagram user wrote about it.
"Iconic though," another added.
"if you haven't an ugly cry, are you even living?"
A fan joked, "But we still got the ugly after."
Darker Backstory
According to the reports, this, apparently, is not the first time Perry's usually cool composure cracked during her stint as judge on "American Idol."
Back in February, the singer was famously quoted on social media after an outburst that she had following a contestant sharing his experience with a school shooting.
21-year-old Trey Louis, a mattress salesman and aspiring singer, audition on the show, and revealed that he survived a school shooting at Santa Fe High School in May 2018.
"Our country has f**king failed us!" Perry yelled, her eyes welling with tears. "You should be singing here because you love music, not because you had to go through that f**king bulls**t."
"You don't have to lose eight friends. I hope that you remind people that we have to change. Because I'm scared, too."
Even Perry's co-judges, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan seemed perturbed by the contestant's story.
He described how the shooter went into an art room before entering the art room he was situated in; the Santa Fe High School shooting resulted in 10 deaths: eight students, and two teachers.
"We have tolerated this for so long. Too long. It's become a norm," Richie said.
"We've got to change. And I hope you can just lead," Perry added.
