Katy Perry has been tagged a "hypocrite" by "American Idol" fans and viewers following her mom-shaming controversy.

The judge's harsh words toward "American Idol" contestant, Sara Beth Liebe, have since been tagged as statements to mom-shame her. As a result, the hopeful quit the show during her second audition.

The public continues to call out the singer following the development, and they roasted her more after she wore a "MAMA" hat in public.

Katy Perry Wears Hat With "MAMA" Text After Mom-Shaming Controversy

Fox News Digital shared photos of Perry's recent fashion as the singer suffers from condemnation due to her mom-shaming controversy.

During her Monday outing, the "Roar" hitmaker went on a shopping spree in Montecito, California, while wearing a gray sweatshirt, joggers, and aviator sunglasses. She completed her getup with a hat that has the text "MAMA."

After the photos were shared online, "American Idol" fans expressed how infuriated they are because of Perry's behavior toward Liebe. Some also condemned her and called her hypocrite for wearing the hat amid the controversy.

One tagged Perry's Twitter account and wrote, "Shame on you for mom shaming contestant Christian mom Sara Beth for putting her kids and family first over music and money. You are the biggest hypocrite. You're trash, Katy Perry."

"To hell with Katy Perry & all of her liberal,Hollywood, types ! They can't appreciate the hard work & devotion it takes to raise a young family without a surrogate & babysitters ! She can wear a Mama hat all she wants,it's all bulls**t ! ! !," another tweeted.

What Katy Perry Did to "American Idol" Contestant

"American Idol" judges planned to pass the 25-year-old contestant during the second round of the show after she performed Police's "Roxanne." However, Liebe shocked them by saying she would be quitting the show since she wants to focus on her children instead.

Perry asked her to stay, but Liebe said she made up her mind to leave her dreams behind instead of doing something selfish toward her kids. The contestant added that she felt she had no chance to win anyway, so she would dedicate her time to her kids instead.

During her first audition, Liebe said she had only been taking music seriously for six months and only had karaoke nights with her friends. Lionel Richie also gave her a "no" when she auditioned in New Orleans.

Perry, at that time, said that she might need to leave if she has a different dream because there were aspirants who badly wanted to pursue singing careers.
