Singer-actor Julian Figueroa, the son of late music icon Joan Sebastian and actress Maribel Guardia, has died. He was 28.
Figuroa's untimely passing shocked the Mexican music and TV industry as the young singer-actor was still able to post a tribute message to his late father, who turned 72 on Saturday. But a day after the post, the rising musician also passed away.
Julian Figueroa Dead at 28
Deadline first cited the report about Figueroa's death, sharing the confirmation released by ANDI - a guild for Mexico-based performers. The association delivered its sincerest condolences to his bereaved family.
The initial statement did not disclose Julian Figueroa's cause of death. But his mother, Maribel Guardia, released a lengthy post on Instagram detailing what happened to her son and paying tribute to him.
According to the actress, she was at the theater when the 27-year-old was found unconscious in his room. The responders were called to the area via the 911 hotline, but the emergency personnel had already found him dead upon their arrival.
The police ruled that no foul play was involved and that they found no traces of violence.
Guardia revealed the medical report they received, indicating that Figueroa died of acute myocardial infarction and ventricular fibrillation.

"It saddens me to announce the passing of my beloved son Julián Figueroa, who has unfortunately preceded us in parting from this level," she wrote.
He was survived by his wife Ime Garza, their 6-year-old son, and his siblings.
Figueroa became the third child of Sebastian, who died in the past years. The first one, Trigo Figueroa, was murdered in 2006 after the patriarch's concert in Mission, Texas.
Meanwhile, Juan Sebastián, was also killed during a bar fight in 2010. The Morelos State Attorney General's office said in a statement at that time that a security guard was suspected in his shooting and killing.
Julian Figueroa's Career
In the past years, Figueroa followed his father's footsteps in the music industry. He released several hit songs, including "Necesito de Ti," "Como Olvidar," "Pideme," and "Volare."
According to El Universal newspaper (per Billboard), Figueroa already finished recording his first solo album when he passed away. He was reportedly preparing to release it this year.
Meanwhile, he had not appeared in any TV or movie project since his appearance in the telenovela, "Mi Camino Es Amarte."
