George Thorogood canceled his upcoming shows with the Destroyers following a serious medical diagnosis.
The legendary musician confirmed in December that The Bad All Over the World - 50 Years of Rock would mark the 50th anniversary of his tour with the Destroyers. For what it's worth, the musician played his first show with the backing band on Dec. 1, 1973.
However, Thorogood's tour plans have been compromised by his health condition after completing less than 10 shows this year.
George Thorogood Cancels Shows Amid Serious Medical Condition

"George has been diagnosed with a very serious medical condition that will require immediate surgery and quite a few weeks of recuperation and healing."

George Thorogood Has Been Promoting a Healthy Lifestyle
Before his recent health issue, Thorogood notably established Marla Thorogood Memorial Fund for Ovarian Cancer Research to honor his wife, Marla, who died of ovarian cancer in 2019.
Talking to Dr. Nancy Berk in 2020, the "Bad to the Bone" hitmaker shared why it is important to take charge of one's health and why reminding loved ones to do it, as well, is important.
"I am dedicated to supporting ovarian cancer awareness, education and research that will lead to providing screenings and educating more women about this disease," he said. "It is important for women to get annual exams and take charge of their health. My daughter and I want to do what we can to save lives."
Thorogood and his late wife got married in July 1985.
